The eye lies. The hand, however, acts. When we look at ourselves, we sometimes lie without even meaning to. We make excuses, we justify ourselves; we see ourselves as better or worse than we really are. But our actions don’t lie. They reveal who we are, even when our thoughts try to convince us otherwise. That’s why, in this work, the eye is found in the hand. We cannot simply observe ourselves to know ourselves. We must act. Because sometimes, what we do reveals more about us than what we think we are. Existential question: Do I truly know myself, or is it just the image I’ve constructed of myself?
