The One Who Watches Over

This work explores the duality between strength and vulnerability, shadow and light, protection and freedom. At the center, a winged female figure stands out as a guardian. Her face, both frontal and fragmented, evokes the different facets of identity. The wings surrounding her can both protect and offer the possibility of soaring, while the raven symbolizes instinct, transformation, and transition. The contrasts of black, deep blue, red, and pink create a tension between gentleness and rebellion. Fragments of text, hearts, symbols, and various materials come together to construct a world where the intimate meets the imaginary. Through layering and mixed media, the work speaks to this ability to navigate one’s own shadows without losing what drives us. A figure who no longer seeks to choose between light and darkness, but who learns to embrace both.
