Girl and Flowers

This painting originates from a photograph of my girlfriend taken on her birthday. I was drawn to the intimacy of the moment and wanted to translate this personal memory into a more idealized image through painting. Rather than treating the photograph as a fixed record of reality, I used it as a starting point for reconstructing the figure through my own perception and affection. The surrounding flowers and rippling water create a space that moves between reality and imagination. They soften the original setting and transform an ordinary personal moment into something more timeless and dreamlike. Through this process, the painting becomes less about documenting how she appeared in that particular photograph and more about how I remember and perceive her.
