Memento Mori, Memento Vivere

This work, created in 2025, is one of the most philosophical pieces in my artistic practice. It depicts a cherub in ecstasy. Next to him is a plate filled with pills, one of which our character is about to take. This painting invites reflection on our dependence on medication and on the perceived pressure to take it in order to feel good, as if there were no other alternative. Neither a miracle cure nor a natural solution: only pharmaceutical companies seem to hold the truth about our well-being. As the title suggests, Memento Mori, Memento Vivere—“Remember that you will die; remember to live.”
