Study – The Temptation of Saint Anthony – Sloth

This drawing, created in 2024, is part of a series of preparatory studies for a work titled *The Temptation of Saint Anthony*. It depicts one of the seven deadly sins that came to tempt Anthony, transposed to our time to create a deliberate anachronism. Here, sloth is embodied by a figure lying down and asleep. Near him, bottles of medication allude to those who must rely on treatments to overcome their difficulties and meet performance demands. This figure challenges society’s critical gaze, which all too often tends to hastily judge supposed weaknesses when in fact they are invisible sufferings. Comes in a white 16 x 20 in.
