NEBULA

Mixed media, acrylic, glitter, and textured materials on canvas Some nebulae are so vast that it takes light years to pass through them. In *Nebula*, we are inside it. We look at it, contemplating it from the outside while inside, enveloped and dissolved in its layers of deep purple, brilliant white, and electric turquoise. The canvas has no fixed center. It has currents, areas of density, places where matter accumulates, and others where it disperses like cosmic snow. The white is striking—not clean or smooth, but fractured, crystallized, accumulated like frost or ash. It spreads in irregular patches across the indigo violet, creating a texture that the eye wants to touch even before it understands what it is looking at. It is interstellar matter frozen in its own motion—cooled gas, compressed stardust, birth slowed to a thousandth of a second. The violet, meanwhile, pulses from beneath—sovereign, deep, inexhaustible. Neither gentle nor violent. Simply present, like something ancient that has never needed to justify itself. Spots of turquoise and electric blue pierce through here and there like glimmers at the back of a cave. Young stars buried within the nebula, forming in the secrecy of this dense matter. The slate-gray edge frames it all like a rock, like the wall of a cosmos closing in on itself. Nebula is an invitation to total immersion. It is not meant to be merely looked at; it is meant to be inhabited. And once inside, one understands that the silence of space is not the absence of sound. It is the presence of everything that precedes sound.
