The electric blue of the deep cobalt frame—almost unreal—envelops the scene like a jewel box, separating this universe from our own and lending it the solemnity of a reliquary. At the center of the composition, a star explodes in silence. Small, intense, precise. Its white and golden rays pierce the black with the sharpness of a diamond. This is the white dwarf: what remains when a massive star has exhausted all its fuel and collapsed in on itself. Smaller than before. Infinitely denser, it shines with a cold, stubborn light that will last for billions of years to come. Orbiting around it are two planets at opposite ends of the spectrum. On the left, a luminous, living sphere of blue-green resin—an aquatic or glacial world—carrying within it the promise of a possible future. To the lower right, a gray, cratered, austere moon that has already weathered its own cataclysms and bears its scars without hiding them. Veils of gray nebula stretch between them like ancient clouds of gas—the remnants of the original explosion, matter in transit between what was and what will be. *White Dwarf* is a meditation on ultimate resilience. On what it means to continue to shine—smaller, lonelier, yet purer—after having lost everything.
