Riopelle Project

Created to mark the 100th anniversary of Jean Paul Riopelle’s birth, this painting is intended as a tribute to one of Quebec’s greatest artists. For the Riopelle Project, I sought to incorporate certain elements of his technique and style into my own Cubist universe. The textures, colors, and spontaneity associated with his work thus come together with my geometric forms, my lines, and my way of fragmenting the image. A meeting of two visual languages, realized in my own way to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Jean Paul Riopelle’s birth.
