Perfectly Imperfect: Violet

"Perfectly Imperfect" is a series of three paintings that explores the beauty found within imperfections through the universal act of smiling. Each piece captures a unique, imperfect bite, celebrating the individuality that makes us human. When I began this series, I wanted to portray the organic, unfiltered smiles of different people, in different life stages, as a way of exploring both our differences and our shared humanity. Although every smile is unique, it is something we all share, which is a simple yet powerful expression that connects us. I strongly believe that the simple expression of a smile reveals a small part of who we are. Whether perfectly aligned or beautifully imperfect, the smiles we possess express ourselves in ways words cannot. In this series, the viewer is given the opportunity to create their identity revolving around the smile alone. "Purple" consists of a big smile that is far from perfect, with its crooked teeth and improper bite, yet these factors do not hinder the trajectory of embracing ourselves through something we all share. A simple smile.
