Peaceful Slumber

“Peaceful Slumber” is a surreal and dreamlike environment depicting the messiness of the artist’s mind. There are two distinct sections that are cut straight down the middle: the yellow section, which focuses on the calm sleeping figure who is unaware of the mess slowly creeping into her bubble. Next is the pink side, which depicts a messy bedroom full of unfinished tasks laid haphazardly on the floor. such as, laundry, a water bottle and a school bag. This artwork shows how Kessem’s messy bedroom is a reflection of her own struggles with mental health.
