This work brings together a street-art vocabulary and a urban approach. Its value does not come from applying decoration to architecture: the mural gains meaning through its scale, its surface and the way it is encountered in a real place.

Izabelle Duguay paints nature within the city — not as decoration, but as a reminder. In her immersive murals, organic forms spread across concrete facades with vegetal patience, reminding passersby of the existence of a living, cyclical, and patient world waiting for them to look up and notice it. Her work is an invitation to contemplation at the heart of urban agitation. > “Her work explores scale, color, and the relationships between natural and urban forms. Inspired by landscapes and natural cycles, she develops a meditative visual language centered on renewal and transformation.” Izabelle Duguay began her mural practice in Montreal in 2013. For more than seven years, she worked as an artist-educator with MU, the muralism organization that has transformed the face of the city since its founding. This experience allowed her to develop both her artistic vision and her technical mastery while sharing her passion with highly diverse communities. Her collaborations with agencies such as MassivArt, Artgang, La Centrale des Artistes, and Artbangbang have led her to work across a wide range of artistic contexts and commissions, enriching a practice that extends far beyond large-scale mural work. Her artistic approach remains coherent throughout: natural forms — leaves, branches, waves, cycles — become metaphors for personal and collective renewal and transformation. In 2023, she completed her most ambitious work to date: the largest mural in Eastern Quebec, created in Rimouski, a commission that confirmed her place among the leading muralists of her generation. That same year, she created her first mural outside Quebec’s borders at the Edmonton Mural Festival — a milestone that opened a new chapter in a rapidly expanding career.

Izabelle Duguay, whose practice is connected with Montreal, develops a visual world that can be followed from one wall to another. Captions and archives connected to this body of work document several mural interventions. These points of reference place the image within a practice rather than treating it as an isolated visual.
