Phillip Gagnon has always been drawn to art, beginning as a child in Grande Anse, New Brunswick, where he constantly had a pencil in hand. After moving to British Columbia at age seven, his teacher sent him with a box of art supplies, encouraging his grandparents to support his drawing. In his mid-twenties, he focused mainly on pen and ink and pencil, designing certificates for Ju-Jutsu belts while working toward his black belt.
