“I am the ecosystem of my art, a state of being, of openness, of resistance and of rebirth.”

Painter · Montréal, Canada
Mileva Roumer is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice fuses painting, lyric poetry, performance and visual meditation. She conceives each work as a ritual, a sensitive trace of the passage of time, a connection between image and word. Her paintings are always accompanied by poems, forming an intimate dialogue in which the visual gesture extends the poetic impulse. Her work questions memory, identity and nature as sacred territories to be inhabited, listened to and preserved. For her, poetry is found as much in silence as in words, in the breath of the brush, in the slowness of a look at the world. She is a guardian of memory and a messenger of nature, asserting that art can be a refuge, a resistance and a path back to oneself.
