DuGénie is an independent artist from Quebec of Haitian descent. He was adopted by two Quebec parents who immersed him in a vibrant world of art and culture from an early age. Having spent several summers in New York with his godfather Claude Simard, co-owner of the “Jack Shainman Gallery,” he was able to visit numerous museums there, develop his artistic curiosity, and deepen his knowledge of art. He earned his diploma in advertising coordination at Cégep de Jonquière, followed by a university degree in interdisciplinary art in Chicoutimi.
