Dana Corkey
Calgary, Canada
•
1972
Dana Corkey is a Calgary-based mixed media artist whose work sits at the intersection of play and intention. Using unconventional tools and materials alongside traditional mark-making, she builds surfaces that carry energy, optimism, and a sense of discovery. Her paintings are collected by individuals and organisations across Canada and internationally. Dana also works on commission, creating original pieces tailored to specific spaces, palettes, and stories. She exhibits regularly in Calgary and beyond, and offers workshops for those who want to explore mixed media in their own practice....

Inner Worlds
In this collection, mixed media artist Dana Corkey explores the emotional states that have accompanied different moments in her life–a forced medical leave (Frustration, Confusion, Letting Go), a massive transition in leadership at her child's school (Sadness, Disappointment, Fires Ignited by Anger). In this ongoing series, Dana turns to her art to make sense of and process these difficult times.
