It was in February 1973, when she was 11 years old, that Athéna painted her first oil painting using a palette knife. It was a revelation for her, and she has never stopped painting since. Even back then, she was using mixed media, blending different materials, adding texture, and painting with thick layers. For a long time, she was known as “La Gauguine” because she lived on the islands and her favorite subjects were women in exotic landscapes. For my 60th birthday, my family gave me an iPad and said, "Welcome to the future." I explored digital technology with surprise and comfort on my living room couch. A collection was born in the year of my 50th birthday of painting in 2023. It was exhibited at the "1855 collective exhibition" Gallery in Saint-Hyacinthe that same year. The majority of these works are obviously reprintable except for the personal, most intimate ones.

SCULPTURES
I started sculpting in 2012. But I had barely 6 months of practice when already 2 of my largest sculptures were bought by a collector from Los Angeles. He was surprised by my work even though I had only 6 months of practice and said to me, eyes wide open: "Only 6 months? Oh my God, you are scary!" Most of my sculptures are sold. But I also work on commission.
Exploration of Fields of Consciousness
Visions manifest during my meditation or hypnosis sessions. I then paint them on canvas. This work is the first in this series. To date, only 5 have been painted.
On the Tightrope of Life
For the first time, I put myself on stage. I am here, like a tightrope walker walking on the path of my life. Sometimes I run, sometimes I walk on eggshells. I try not to fall. But the current climate makes my journey difficult. The monsters are free and fond of everything that moves. The only way out for me is to take care of everything around me but especially myself. Maybe if each of us did the same, the world would be a better place. Don't you think so?
