It was in February 1973, when she was 11 years old, that Athéna painted her first oil painting using a palette knife. Since then, she has never stopped painting. Without realizing she was working in mixed media, even back then she blended different mediums, added texture, and painted with thick layers. For a long time, she was known as “La Gauguine” because she lived on the islands and her favorite subjects were women in exotic landscapes.
