Ariane has been drawing since childhood. Her great-uncle, Robert Lapalme, was a caricaturist for *La Presse* and *Le Devoir* in the 1950s and 1960s, and a friend of the painter Alfred Pellan. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Previously, she was a student at Cégep Saint-Laurent, where she studied under the late Léopold Foulem, a contemporary artist, and Aurelio Sandonato, a sculptor. She then briefly ventured into the field of graphic design, continuing her studies at Cégep Ahuntsic for one year before completing a one-year bachelor’s program in Visual and Media Arts at UQAM.
