Julie Lépine, known as Julé, is an emerging multidisciplinary visual artist based in Quebec. A self-taught artist, she has been developing her practice for several years, having trained in oil painting under the artist Sylvie Dupré and explored the techniques of the great masters. For my mixed media works, I start intuitively, with a play of colors, textures, and spontaneous gestures. I then incorporate papers painted by myself with my leftover palettes, creating layers, contrasts, and marks that give each work its unique character.

I begin my semi-abstract works intuitively, through colors, gestures, and shapes that appear spontaneously. Then, little by little, I let emerge what I see in them, to create a link between the abstract and the real.
Abstract
My abstract works are born from my intuition and feelings. I let the colors, gestures, and textures freely express what dwells within me, without trying to control everything. Each work thus becomes an emotion brought to color.
